Everybody was disappointed!! The wedding was ruined.
Not to mention the touching moments, but the whole wedding was covered with disappointments. The newly wedded were embarrassed…. Of course, nobody wants to see this situation in his/her own wedding. Let’s see a few examples below and check what went wrong.
What may ruin a wedding? How can you avoid them?
From the survey conducted by Zexy,
439 couples were interviewed during their wedding and over 90% of them thought their weddings were a bad one.
Here are some of the answers:
“I was not used to wear formal clothes and I nearly slipped in front of my guests”,
“I had made beautiful nails but one of them fell off…”,
“I forgot to bring a handkerchief and my sweats and tears ruined my make-up.”
However, majority of the reasons are unexpected circumstances and are unavoidable.
As you can imagine that weddings and Olympic Games are somehow cursed, there are always unexpected or surprising things happened.
For example, the groom had mistakenly taken the wrong marriage ring when exchanging the rings. This mistake would never happen in other time except on weddings.
However, if you can see the mistake from another angle, the whole situation might change. The groom was cute to react nervously on his wedding day. If you would have recalled the situation again few years later, you will definitely think it was a sweet memory.
Of course you might still wish things did not happen that way, but it was only a minor issue when compared to others.
Some guests might be picky on details when they were attending a wedding.
However, it was still not good if the guests left with disappointment.
If I have to say from my or some of my friends experiences about a bad wedding, I could probably shortlisted as below. Unnecessary long and meaningless speeches, too many clothes changing for the bride (say 5 times during the banquet) and too expensive wedding gifts for guests, etc, were all the possible reasons that might ruin a wedding. After all, too many unnecessary showcase or programs arranged in a wedding are not really good. Also, you may have to be careful with the food, floral arrangement and decoration, and the overall services from the venue, it is better not to let the guests think they looked too cheap or too unworthy.
Also, believe or not, guests become criticizing when they attend weddings, especially to the bride. From the survey conducted by Zexy (※2) to over 300 guests, about 90% of them criticized the brides at weddings.
“The wedding dress does not match with the bride” is the top criticism made by guests, followed by the manner of the bride, makeup and hair styles, then the figure of the bride, etc. These are all, to a certain extent, expected comments. However, all of these can be avoided.
You may be able to get some constructive advices or comments from the consultants of bridal shop or wedding venue. If the bride has chosen the right style that matches her face and figure, she will definitely look much more beautiful and attractive. On the other hand, the bride can consider attending manner class a few months before the wedding to correct her postures and habits, in order to get well prepared for her big day.
I personally think that the most important thing in a wedding is to share your happiness with your guests. Anything unexpected could happen no matter how well you planned.
As long as you can let your guests feel your sincerity and happiness, that is good enough. Therefore, just stay simple and relax.
As long as both of you keep a normal mind to receive your guests, nobody would care any mistakes happened on your big day. Good luck!
